Artwork from school

This was kind of funny...a couple weeks ago before Taylor went on her first break for Kindergarten she was learning the letter "O" for the week. They colored a pic of an octopus....and she made a beautiful rainbow octopus that i loved!! it went right up on the refrigerator!! Now Taylor does have a natural artistic talent...not sure where it came from but it exists!! She has always loved to color and takes much time and pride in all of her projects.

Well, today Maddie came home from preschool...they were learning the letter "O" as well this week and she came home with her three year old version of the rainbow octopus!! I think it looks great....it went right up on the fridge as well and both girls are so proud!! i thought you might enjoy seeing them!!

Post Catch up

OK people....i have totally been slacking on getting posts out this month so today i am playing catch up. scroll down because i am doing three separate posts to catch you up on this month. this first group of pics is of a weekend away. Don's parents were in town and offered to take the kids so don and i price lined a hotel up in the mountains and had a great time!! it was GREAT to be alone and do what we wanted BUT i have to admit.....we both missed the girls and kept seeing things that they would enjoy!! We had a great time though. we had some rain now and then but it was fun to walk in the rain and hang out!! This first pic is us being cheesy waiting for our bus to come get us!!

PRESCHOOL for....

OK....we now have a new PRESCHOOLER to introduce you to.....Madison has now started school!! And she is very excited about this!! she is going to the same preschool Taylor went to..but has two different teachers!! she has been going for a week and a half now and has been doing great!! she is making friends and being a BIG girl. she loves to make stuff and bring it home and she loves to tell me what she did at school. So now i begin my crazy year of running one preschooler to school in the morning three days a week and a kindergartner to school in the afternoon every day. this will leave LITTLE time in between but hopefully we won't end the year with too many tardy's!! This first pic is of the first time Madison wrote her name....if you remember I got a pic of the first time Taylor wrote her name....so i got both...i may be biased but this is pretty good for a little one who is still a month away from actually being 4!! she is the youngest in her class but you wouldn't know it by the way she writes, counts, or does patterns!!

Daddy was sad!! when she came home we asked her who her friends were.....she then started to name off about four names....all were boy names!! it starts early people!!

Aquarium and saying Good bye!!

The beginning of August saw us get ready to say goodbye to Emily!! Emily is done with her summer internship and heading back to school. She had an amazing summer working for YFC camp ministry and had a great learning experience. She insists that living here with the Talley's was one of the highlights of her summer...i told you she was crazy;) Her parents came out to spend a few days with us at the end and it was great to see them....Taylor and Maddie LOVED playing with Uncle Kent and Aunt Jan!! The kids were laying in bed.....and Emily went in to say good bye to them because she was leaving early the next morning.....She laid down with them and told them she was leaving....Madison gently leaned over to her and put her hand on her face and said "But you are part of our family...."....awww....yes that broke Emily's heart!! It was great to have her here!! See you soon Em!!

Emily's parents had some extra time before their evening flight out so we took them to the Denver Aquarium!! the girls had a great time seeing all of the Dori, Nemo and Marlin fishes!! they loved it!

OK...i haven't been away from the lovable "little monsters" going on 11 days now!!! I AM WORN OUT!!! these kids are driving me insane;) i take my hat off to all single mothers right now!!! i could never do it!! I long for tomorrow night....and one trip to walmart...by myself listening to MY music!! we are getting ready to paint the house...we have a couple friends coming to help tomorrow, thursday, friday and saturday....so it will be a big paint PARTY!!! then i have some major get out of jail/house time banked up;) ha. just one of those days i guess!!
