Updates

Hi Guys..... I have been meaning to update you all at the beginning of this week and that just never ended up happening!! now that we have started school but still have summer activities going things have proved to be very busy around here. Don has been speaking at a YFC camp all week here in CO!! he gets home late tomorrow night and then he flys out the next morning for Florida!!! so things have been extra busy on the home front for me...chasing after the little ones!! Don has been enjoying his time at camp...he loves to be around high schoolers and he loves to share his story with them and learn about theirs!! He was a little tired last night but feeling better today so hopefully he can finish strong!!

The girls have been good...very busy busy but good. Emily has been holding down the fort with me this week and will head off to camp next week. Her parents come in tomorrow night and we are all very excited to see them!!!! Taylor has still been enjoying school and she works very hard on all of her papers and loves to bring them home!! Madison....well....she is very THREE if you know what i mean;) this child tests my patience, makes me laugh and tires me out....all in the span of five minutes. while we were waiting for Taylor in the parking lot of the school she looked at her foot.....and told me that her paint melted so she needs to have more....in other words her toe nail polish came off :) or however you want to say it!! ME???...do i ever update on what is going on with me....pry not huh!!! i am good....i had a steering meeting for MOPS this next year and it went very well and we got a lot done!! i am planning a date with one of my girlfriends out here....we are both looking forward to that....and i am mostly just dropping off kids, feeding kids and cleaning up after kids:) sounds great huh:)

Here are some pics from last weekend....emily and i slaved all day pulling weeds and then we got don to take us out to olive garden...best restaurant evah!!

Whew....

This week has been quite busy but very good for us!!! YES, i officially now have a Kindergartner!!!! and that is still very crazy for me!! Taylor started school on Wednesday!! (Tuesday we had a meet and greet with the teacher.) Those that know Taylor know she did great. "bye mom....don't forget to come get me".....was what i heard from my five year old.

So far she has been very excited about school...she tells us bits and pieces here and there. I asked her yesterday (2nd day of school) if she had any new friends yet....she said "yes"....so I asked her what their names were....to which she replied "oh, i don't know those yet!!". She received her first STAR on her paper she brought home yesterday and is very proud about that!! She is adjusting pretty well.

we got into our school routine out here...so bedtime is moved up an hour and more strict, meals are served at a certain time....so we can be out of the house at a certain time and things are more predictable around here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This change was GOOD for the girls.....it seems the last 3 weeks at home when we more loose about things....i had more attitudes and fighting from the girls!! How is Madison doing with the change.............LOVES IT!!! she likes to have afternoons just with Mommy....she likes to be my little helper when i do errands and she likes having the toys to herself!!! So, all adjusting is going well. YES things are busy and YES they will continue to get MORE busy but that is ok.

On the work front of things.....Don's travel schedule is about to multiply times 10......end of July he has a camp he is speaking at for a week, the morning after camp he flys out for a regional conference he is speaking at and then maybe one more trip in august. Then comes September where he has meetings in the mountains of Colorado and then his long awaited Young Leaders Conference in South Africa for two weeks. SO he is in and out and very busy for the next few months.....which means come October i may collapse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will get through it though...we always do!!

Now onto pics.....I might be bias....but i thought Taylor was the cutest Kindergartner i have ever seen...she is so proud and so ready...which is GOOD!!
Maddie wanted to make sure she got in some of the pics!!

On the school playground!! VERY CUTE!!!

Last hug good bye!!! awww

These next couple pics are from a couple weeks ago when Grandma and Papa came for a visit (don's parents). it was good to see them. the kids were excited to take them to a bounce house place and show them all their tricks!!!

Sick child feeling better makes for a Happy 4th of July!!

Well, to say this week has been a LONG week would be an understatement!! On Tuesday night out of the blue Taylor started spiking a temperature of 105 and was feeling horrible. On Wednesday during the day she continued to spike a 105 temp. we were able to give her some Motrin, give her a bath and fluids and get things under control and see glimpses of "taylor" again.....then she would get tired quickly go lay down and her temperature would spike really high again. Without medicine she just wasn't able to keep her temperature down. So we had a trip to the doctor to see if we had ear infections or anything else and we couldn't find anything. So, they said it was probably just a viral infection and sent us home. Wednesday night was a LONG night of a hot, tired, and cranky child who couldn't sleep. Thursday her temperature was still spiking a lot when the Motrin wore off mainly to 103 degrees!! Thursday night was also a hard night to sleep as well....I think i was up 4 times with her. Well, that brings us to today....we didn't make any big 4th of July plans as we weren't sure what Taylor would be ready for so we basically just hung out today.....got the pool out and chilled and we finally saw Taylor feeling better!!! She did take a 2 hour nap this morning which isn't usually like her....but she didn't sleep well last night so she was probably just tired. Tonight we walked up the hill and were able to sit and watch the fireworks....which both girls LOVED!!! That was a big hit. I think we are over this virus and things are looking up!! We tired out the kids and I for one hope that we get LOTS of sleep tonight. Emily has been home this week which has been a BIG help and she leaves tomorrow for another camp!! Please pray for her and the YFC camp team for safety and a great time with kids!! Taylor actually starts school this next week......they do track schedule out here in Colorado....so it is year round school....they have 8 weeks in school and 3 weeks off school. So on Wednesday I will drop off my first born to her very first day of SCHOOL!!! Oh man....how did that happen. I will post pics on that!! Anyways Happy 4th of July!! Enjoy some pics from today. I have some more to post from the other week but i will have to get to those later!!!! Remember Taylor woke me up 4 times last night....gotta love motherhood;)

The girls are "wrestling" with Emily!!!! Poor Emily!!!

This is a GREAT pic of Maddie.....look at that face!!

Waiting for the fireworks!

Still waiting....so lets take more pics!!! I actually like this one though!
