Where has this month gone???

Geeezzzz....the lack of postings should tell you a few things....first it has been a long winter inside with two very energetic toddlers!!! Not being able to go to parks or just go out and run has been hard this winter!!! I can honestly say that I am ready for winter to be over with!! What have we been doing you ask???.....not much just trying to stay on top of everything around here.

First, Madison has been keeping us on our toes with her potty training process. I am not surprised that this has turned out to be A PROCESS with her...very fitting to her personality I guess. She is doing great with #1 and needs to work more on her #2 if you know what I mean :) The joys of motherhood I suppose! There has been a lot more laundry this month that is for sure, but at least she is still trying;) Madison has also been our bruiser this month. About three weeks ago I was working out and the girls were messing around and somehow (it is very hard to get a straight answer out of a three and four year old!!) Taylor's elbow landed in the middle of Maddie's forehead!! That left a nice circular bruise in the middle of her head!! Just when that was going away she bonked her nose and got a bruise there!! And then tonight....Taylor "misplaced" a block and it landed on Maddie's eye so she now has a big gash on her eye!! What kind of parents are we!!!! In Taylor's defense she felt really bad about the block(even cried cause Maddie was bleeding). Maddie then decided to say "I'm sorry you hit me in the head with the block Taylor.....it was an axxxxxsssssident".

Taylor has been pretty good this month....minus some mishaps with elbows and blocks ;) We had a parent/teacher conference this month.....and Taylor is doing GREAT. They did some evaluations with the kids and Taylor scored great on everything. She really does enjoy school and enjoys learning and being with her friends. They went on their first class field trip last week(i was able to go too) and she had a great time.

I have been doing really good this month as well. Besides feeling cooped up with my kids! I have been keeping busy and I know these next three months are going to be VERY busy as far as our big trip to San Diego for the YFC conference and Don's increasing travel schedule! I have been hanging out with my friend Angela some more which has helped me feel like there is someone here who understands where I am right now (she has a very determined two year old!!)

Don is feeling good. I think he is ready for warmer weather too! He has been helping me some on our new Blog look;) One of the reasons for no pics on this post or this month for that matter is that we got a new camera for Christmas...I know how to take pics but transferring them is a little different....I need a few more lessons;) Like I said Don's travel schedule is going to pick up here, so we really just need to pray for his body to hold up and not get too tired on him!

So, that is the family update...for the month!!! HA. hopefully I will get pics up this week. hope everyone is doing well.

A New Year!!!

Welcome to 2008!!!!!!!!! We look forward to this year for many reasons......I will give you a few. Don and I are hoping to take a missions trip to South Africa in September, We are now starting to feel settled here in CO, Taylor will finish preschool and enter K, Madison will enter preschool next fall, Madison has also decided she is willing to start wearing underwears....PRAISE GOD, and I am sure there will be plenty of action and surprises to come.

So, as you go on this journey with us please pray for protection and growth for each member of our family. It's not always easy but it is always interesting. I am in the middle of raising a 3 and 4 year old....in some ways it is easier...we are out of the baby stage ( i don't even carry a diaper bag anymore) and the girls are very independent, in other ways...it is harder because they are toddlers!!! The kids play really well together (sure there are fights) but they do entertain each other. We are very glad we had them so close in age...so they always have someone to play with! Don's role at YFC is good...he is feeling settled where God has him and enjoys working with his wonderful co workers. I am still looking for that close girl friend that i can relate to and hang out with, but I know the Lord will provide...He always has and always will.

Now for some recent pics....:)

This first pic is my very favorite....Madison turned 3 in September but has shown NO interest in the idea of potty training. We have just been patient and with her personality we were not surprised that SHE would let US know when she WANTED to try!! Well, during Taylor's break from school I figured I would try since we would be able to stay home and work on it....the last 3 days she has been wearing underwears with only two accidents...so we are on are way to a diaper free house!!!! WOW...i can't even comprehend that thought.

So, this is Don....modeling his Christmas present that his little girls picked out for him. On his first day back to work Taylor said "Daddy, you can wear your tie today". So he played along:) What a good sport. If you can't see his tie is a Mickey Mouse Football tie. The girls know how much Daddy loves football....and who doesn't like Mickey??!!

Well, we finally got a good snowfall....not as much as last year but still a lot of fun and eating for my kids. Madison loves to just find a place to sit....and eat!!!!!!

I told Don he looked like a goober....but he didn't care. ;)

"What...you want me to stop eating??? WHY"

Taylor eats too!!
